Reg settles down again

After a hectic 18 weeks touring the length and breadth of Australia, Reg Poole is" almost" relaxing back in his beloved Goulburn Valley. The town of Kyabram is "home" to the Gentle Giant and his wife of 42 years, Dot. 26,000 km's were covered by Reg and Dot and good friends Keith Jamieson and Alisha Smith on their musical journey coast to coast and Reg reckons it was the fulfilment of a lifetime dream as far as he's concerned.

Reg was totally blown away by the number of fans he has in the beautiful northern regions of Australia - and his Rodeo songs were in constant demand at the many shows they performed at. Keith and Alisha and little 18 month old Caitlin-Jane were excellent to travel with, and it was months of music and mirth. There was also a new friendship forged with Graeme and Debbie Snow of Beaudesert QLD who travelled every kilometer of the tour in their beautiful Winnebago Motor home with a 4-wheel drive behind [well, the 4-wheel drive fell just short] - long story eh folks.

Reg has recorded a couple of new songs for Eric Watsons Selection label for release hopefully before Tamworth - one is a lovely Sharon Benjamin written ballad called " A Little Piece Of Me " and the other is a Henry Lawson poem with music attached titled " Reedy River " - both tracks were recorded at "Redback " studios in Leeton NSW where Reg recorded his highly acclaimed CD called "For The Love Of My Country ". Another award was bestowed upon this album at the Gidgee Coal Awards in Pittsworth QLD in mid-November 2007 when the Trevor Day written song "Ode to a Bull " was judged Best Comedy Song. Reg is back with his good mate Owen Blundell doing shows until Tamworth begins [ see gig guide ] and advises that 2008 looks to be pretty full-on with work in every state plus New Zealand.

Poolie's other main interest these days is his 10 month old grandson Ryder and they say he's the living image of his grandad when he was little [ and he was once ]---------- God help us eh. -------- check it out for yourself on the gallery page.

The Poole family would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
